South Africa’s inability to face the variation of Indian wrist spinners, especially the googly, is the main reason for their tragedy in the series so far days by the JP Duminy.
Africa’s most senior batsman in the squad Hashim Amla couldn’t do anything as predicted by the statistic that Amla has a dismissal card in Cape Town. Duminy was tasked with explaining what was wrong at Cape Town, he did not have all the answer but somehow convinced South Africa’s poor performance in the 3rd One-day international.
“You have not missed any opportunity when it comes, especially in the first 20 to 30 balls. We have created chances, but unfortunately, we couldn’t convert into wickets. Kohli is in really good form at the moment. We are going to have to come up with different plans, and work out how we can be better,” Duminy said with trivializing after the match.
Aiden Markram have won the toss and have opted to field. This was the team squads were India unchanged from their last One-day international, where Africa had got two debutants, Heinrich Klaasen makes his debut and takes the gloves and Lungi comes in for Morkel.
India(Playing XI): Rohit, Dhawan, Kohali(c), Rahane, MSD(w), Jadhav, Pandya, Bhuvneshwar, Kuldeep, Chahal, Bumrah.
South Africa(Playing XI): Amla, Markram, Klaasen(w), Duminy, Miller, Zondo, Morris, Phehlukwayo, Rabada, Ngidi, Tahir.
Pitch reporter said that it is very good wicket to bat on, it is gone play like how you want to play. Wrist spinners can get something out of the pitch but the ball will come on a quicker, so if they bowl slowly, South Africa’s batsmen will find easier.
Another failure for Rohit Sharma in this series, as Kagiso Rabada strikes with wicket-maiden, and duck for Rohit Sharma. Then the chase master comes to the crease, but this time Virat Kohli in a new role, as Shikhar Dhawan looking in an aggressive mood. Dhawan and Kohli Only dealing in boundaries and both had played some good cover drive. Dhawan was unstoppable and South African Skipper does not have any idea about how to handle this situation. Rohit Sharma out for a duck but since then, Kohli and Dhawan played very well and put the massive 140 run partnership, as Duminy strikes in his 2nd over and finally a wicket for South Africa.
Ajinkya Rahane comes to the crease, and it is time to Kohli to get up the run rate. But unfortunately India loss their wickets in regular interval, So Kohli had to stay there for the death overs, otherwise, India can’t able to reach 300 marks. And so for that 2nd slowest tone from the Indian Skipper comes in the 40th over that was the Kohli’s 34th One-day international.
Very poor performance from the Indian middle order, as there is nothing in the pitch. Kohli continues his inning put a massive score 303 runs, and the Kohli’s contribution was unbeaten 160. Once again we have the chance to word that “Does India rely a lot on Virat Kohli?”
Bumrah strikes on the first ball and early breakthrough for India. Once again Amla failed, and South Africa have not started what they wanted, especially losing Amla, as he was very good player of spin. Jean-Paul Duminy was look in the fine touch danger sign for India, as MarKram not looking bad either. Both are played very well and rotate the strikes and hit the boundaries in regular time till the wrist spinners not come. In 17th Kuldeep arrives and Markram, and the 400th one-day international dismissal for the MSD.
Still, Wrist spinners are the new language for South Africa, as they only registered only 102 marks at the halfway stage. India Won the ODI by 124 runs. The spinner and the Kohli have once again done for India.
